the feeder, the boat, and the coin sorter

a cat feeder for the lab cat, a river-cleaning boat, and a coin sorter built in 24 hours.

2024 – now · me + SRA · VJTI, Mumbai · deployed

Three small builds, each made because something needed it.

the cat feeder

Our robotics club has a cat. She doesn’t care about semester breaks, so I built her a feeder: a servo turns the dispenser on a timer, food drops down a 3D-printed chute, cat eats even when the lab is empty.

the user

Still a work in progress — I want to clean it up and open-source it properly so animal shelters can build their own.

the river boat

For my environmental studies course. A remote-controlled boat with a scoop at the front and a basket inside: drive it around, it collects floating trash, bring it back, empty it. Waterproofing electronics on a student budget was the whole adventure.

the coin sorter

24-hour hackathon. A camera looks at a coin, a small CNN on a Raspberry Pi figures out if it’s ₹1, ₹2, ₹5 or ₹10, servo gates route it into the right box. Trained with transfer learning because there was no time for anything else. Got above 95% on the ₹5 and ₹10 coins.
